BIOGRAFY:
Ballbreaker band was born in July 2005 from an idea of Denis, experienced guitarist, that by pure chance one evening hears Michele sing, a young vocalist with raucous and sharp tones.
The two have a beer (one only?) together and after exchanging phone numbers they both start looking for three other musicians suitable to play at best the vast AC/DC repertoire.
Following to some auditions, Denis' idea is to involve some old acquaintances: Cristian (Angus), Alberto (in the role of Cliff Williams) and Cristian (drums). The choice of the musicians appears to be the right one from the beginning, and the Ballbreaker prove to be very exciting and full of adrenalin since their first live shows.
The years from 2005 to 2008 see the Ballbreaker make a remarkable qualitative escalation, which brings them to perform in ever more prestigious clubs and live shows.
Problems begin in early 2009, when Alberto (bass) suddenly leaves the band.
To fulfill the many live commitments to be honored, the four survivors immediately start looking for a suitable replacement. In February 2009 Nicola joins the band, in the role of bassman and back vocalist. Spring and Summer of 2009 see the Ballbreaker busy with many live shows in all North-East Italy.
Unfortunately the following Autumn will bring misfortune to the band. Nicola is forced to leave due to personal reasons, soon followed by Cristian (drums). Only three people are left, and the Ballbreaker are forced to stop. New auditions to substitute the whole rhythmic section will be held throughout Winter.
In February 2010 the band is back on stage with two new elements, an old acquaintance in Vicenza's rock scene: Filippo (bass) and Roberto (drums). The band collects a positive series of concerts between February and June, crowned with the return of Alberto (bass). Autumn and Winter fly by quickly between a live show and the next.
In February 2011 the band finally gets the deserved credit for all the hard work done. The Ballbreaker are selected by SKY TV to be AC/DC flagship in the Tribute Band Show, a tv contest of tribute bands playing the greatest rock bands in history.
In front of such a big event, the band starts to creak. Years of internal tensions, forced life in common and alternations of the members, make the Ballbreakers literally blow up.
The band all in all performs well during the tv show, winning hands down the qualifying matches, going past the quarter finals and ending its adventure in the semi-final, beaten by the good Waterfall, Eagles tribute band.
During the tv contest the band shows three different line-ups in three episodes!
Following to the troubled tv experience, the original core of the band formed by Denis and Michele decide to take the situation into their hands: Roberto (drums), Alberto (bass) and Cristian (lead guitar) are once and for all set aside. In their places new members join in: Giulio (Angus) a young and very promising guitarist, Paolo (drums) musician with a number of records and studio tracks recorded in his career, and Matteo (bass and back vocalist) experienced musician and winner of Sanremo Rock 2001 with the band Synergia.
As of today, the Ballbreaker are one of the most enjoyable live acts in the italian underground rock scene, as well as one of the most faithful AC/DC tributes worldwide.Proof of this is their 'take' of “You shook me all night long” included in Diego Broggio & Castaman bootleg house track that has received international success by staying for weeks in the top ten of major music download portals and has been awarded the prestigious “Album of the week” on Espana Network, a leading spanish tv channel.
Today the show is completed with the new amazing scenograpy with cannons, hell's bell and marshall wall.
“...life is too short to listen to bad music, play it badly and listen to it in an even worse way and rust away drinking too much water...” (A.C.)
